First Things First. WHY are We Here?
Smashing auditor stereotypes is our higher calling. It’s WHY we come to work every day.
Unfortunately, auditors are feared as unpleasant adversaries. This is because the word "Auditor" is associated with IRS auditors. And admittedly, not many have had pleasant experiences with those types of auditors.
But auditors in the CPA profession can be different. Our mission is to examine evidence supporting financial information, so we can give others assurance on that information. No unpleasantness required.
As a result of our work, we are naturally in the position to be a trusted advisor to our clients on financial accounting and reporting, internal controls, and audit related matters. This means that although we are independent from our client, and review their financial information with objectivity, we want to show our greatest joy resides in helping, not hunting our clients.
Governmental Audit Services
Singleton, Clark & Company is a certified public accounting firm specialized in helping organizations such as these meet their annual financial audit requirement:
- School Districts
- Appraisal Districts
- Emergency Services Districts
- Municipal Utility Districts
- County Probation Offices
- Groundwater Conservation Districts
Governmental entity financial statements are complex to audit and to prepare. Over the years though, we have mapped the path of an efficient governmental audit process. We promise to use that map in order to get in and get out as quickly as possible, so things can get back to normal at your office.
However, once we leave we immediately begin preparation of our audit report and your financial statements in order to meet all promised deadlines. In addition, we are always available to answer audit and accounting related questions throughout the year.

Agreed-Upon Procedures Engagements
You may need a third-party review of specific financial information, but not on the scale of a full financial statement audit. If so, an Agreed-Upon Procedures engagement could be developed to exactly meet your needs. Like the official name of this type of arrangement says, a list of procedures would be agreed upon, we would perform them, and report to you and any interested parties the results.
Examples of some Agreed-Upon Procedures engagements we have performed:
- Fraud Audits
- Forensic Accounting Analysis
- Cost Analysis of Municipal Development Projects
- Court Ordered Financial Analysis Projects
Let us know what type of agreed-upon procedures you might have in mind.
Because we are a firm of Certified Public Accountants, and auditors specifically, we are uniquely qualified for your special project that involves financial accounting and analysis, but may not quite on the level of a full financial audit.
For example, we frequently provide the following consulting services to our clients:
- Assistance in the development of financial internal controls
- Financial accounting assistance
- Year-end financial close assistance
- Governmental financial statements preparation
- Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) review
- Special projects
